[ He leans in to press his lips against Sholmes' forehead and just holds him there for a long moment before shifting to rest his forehead against Sholmes'. ]
I've been so, so incredibly worried about him. I know you're a lot closer to him, so I can't imagine what you went through hearing all of that. Both last night and today. I'm not mad at him. There are so many people that are so scared here and losing trust and hope.
[ He wishes he could do more for everyone, but he feels a little lost in that department. As he told Rex: Actions speak louder than words. The final few weeks here... That'll be what counts. ]
But I did talk to Kaeya... He's hurting and he's upset about what happened, but... he wants to know who. I asked him what he'd do and he said he'd listen to the person. Give them a chance to answer why.

[ The determination in his voice is strong and solid. There isn't a hint of hesitation. He believes they'll make it through this. He believes that their losses will come back. ]
I know that after we leave here... things won't be perfect. It'll be like a nightmare that we're waking up from. But I found my guiding star. And I'll make sure we work through all of this together when we've made our home.

[ She gladly takes the patting, looking proudly at Irene, as well. These two cuties. And a nice warm spreads through Kotetsu from Sholmes touching Finley. In return, he reaches out to gently touch Irene's cheek. Fair's fair. ]
