[ Under normal circumstances, Kotetsu is the occasional tactile person when in situations. However, this isn't a normal situation. He's the type to want to cherish and touch the person he holds affections to.
With his permission, he starts to undo all the buttons on his coat, taking his time. He isn't in a rush, wanting to show just how much he treasured him.
Once he's finished with that task, his hands slide into the coat around his arms, working to try to push it off of him. ]
[ Such a kind gentleman! Once it's loose, he'll pull it off to drop to the side. His fingers trail down his front to start unfastening his vest. ]
It's an extremely busy city that never sleeps. The city itself is built in layers on top of each other. Three, to be exact. They're kept up with support columns.
Right in the center sits the Justice Tower. There's a huge statue to watch out over the city and the main seven companies that provide some of the sponsorship all have massive statues around the outer edge to keep watch, as well.
Not really. Each of us is sponsored by the different major companies. Our gear is located at each of the buildings with the statues. The main company I worked with was called Apollon Media.
[ And once he's also got the vest unbuttoned, he's going to place his hands on Sholmes' waist. He stop there, for now, as they keep talking. ]
[ He leans forward to press his forehead against Sholmes', thumbs rubbing at his sides. Hopefully that's not ticklish. ]
I'm losing my powers. I used to have a five minute time limit on activating them. In the last few years, it's been shortening more and more. Now I'm down to about under a minute.
[ He also gives a wry bit of a smile. ]
My company also decided to find a replacement for me to work with my partner. They wrote me out of the entire deal. After some things happened, I could have probably gone back, but I decided with my steadily declining powers, it's probably best for someone like me to be a second stringer.
[Sholmes was feeling relaxed before, with the attention, but that answer whips his focus back - he slides his hands back around to cup the other's face, face obviously filled with concern.]
Oh, my goodness. Oh, dear, no. [He's forehead to forehead, thumbs circling over the other's cheeks.] How terrible. You shouldn't have to suffer for something outside of your control, Kotetsu.
[ Sometimes you drop a bombshell! Unfortunately(?) for Sholmes, Kotetsu is pretty honest for someone that he holds dear. ]
It's fine. I've been coming to terms with it. I guess the main thing that frustrates me is that I can't do as much as I could before to help people. But, at least I can still do something.
It's not really talked about, if it is. Heroes retire, so it could be that. You don't want the public panicking about that kind of information.
[ He shrugs some. ]
We go after smaller criminals. The ones that aren't meant to be broadcast. Or we help backup the main heroes. Big pay cut and a lot less glory, but I'm fine with that. I was never doing it for the attention.
Well... I mean, it is kind of nice having people recognize you. I used to be "The King of Heroes" so it was a bit of a blow to the ego when I became last season's news.
[ So, well, he did like the attention and being The Big Hero, he didn't care about appealing to the TV staff for ratings. So take that as you will. ]
She knows, though. I've been a lot more honest with her lately. It'd be kind of hard to hide anyway.

That's out of the way, now.

At least you keep yourself plenty warm.
no subject
Indeed. It is quite suitable for chilly foggy nights in the streets of London.
no subject
Never been.
[ Does London even exist for Kotetsu? Probably not by that name, actually. ]
But if it's anything like the winter nights of Sternbild, I'd imagine you would need something like that.
no subject
Sternbild...now what kind of place is that?

[imagining a cake town. it's all cake]
Justice Tower...an apt name, I suppose. Is that where you work as a superhero?
no subject
Not really. Each of us is sponsored by the different major companies. Our gear is located at each of the buildings with the statues. The main company I worked with was called Apollon Media.

[And reaching out to gently place his arms around the other's shoulders, just to let them rest there.]
Worked...? Past tense? Do you no longer work for them?

[He sighs.]
Is there really nothing one can do to reverse such a thing?
no subject
[ There's a wry smile here. ]

[These powers are so mysterious...]
What does a second stringer even do?
no subject
[ He shrugs some. ]

[Kotetsu is no flamboyantly dramatic individual. Even with the Wild Tiger thing.]
Does your daughter know about this?
no subject

[A light smile, but...ah. Honest. Indeed, Kotetsu is a good father.]
What does she think about all of this?
no subject
[ A warm smile back. He tries. He truly, deeply tries. ]
She's really supportive of me. This was she also understands all the times I had to break my promises. I'm glad she can forgive me, at least.
no subject
[He leans forward to kiss him on the forehead, gently.]
From the sounds of it, she takes after you.
no subject
That'd make any father proud to hear.
