[ ah when no one escapes this without something scathing or awful printed on their skin. his expression is soft, but friendly as he goes back to scrubbing up his arms. insert here how they're probably away from their main water source etc. etc. not polluting their source of water etc. etc. kaeya would know this, he works in the field when he's not writing reports or filling paperwork out. ]

I will say it's nice to finally be able to point out why I couldn't rest, even with all those injuries.

[ at those words, kotetsu reaches up and touches his neck with a slightly sad smile. but the touch and words that come next do surprise him. ]
I wish it was only one case... and I wish it only applied to this place.
But I don't plan on letting this place take me down now. We're too close to the end to let that happen. Now's the time for us to shine our brightest, right?
Yeah. It's complicated. I know it's not exactly the same, but there's still a weight there. But it's one I've chosen to carry, since it's a part of who I am.
