… It isn’t the same. The intentions are different. We thought having one side win would lead to a poor situation to handle, much like how the dead have told us that either side winning would come with consequences.

Kim Dokja seemed to think evening numbers would give us time, a chance he was willing to take. Or at the very least, a confirmed Celestial death would mean one less Temporal death.

Of course. I will always fight to make sure I'm not leaving anyone behind... but if that isn't an option. What choice is even the right one there? Living with the regret knowing you failed to protect someone you love or leaving them with the memory that they died for you?

In most cases, you never know if you need sacrifice. It's merely perceptions and assessments of a situation, but that doesn't mean it's necessary or called for.
