Maybe. Maybe not. I have someone I feel like I can trust that's on the other side, but... I'm worried about something I was told early on and I can't help but think about that kind of thing.
I was told it was something like Order versus Chaos, but Temporals are order, specifically "Order above all else". Which would make Celestials "Chaos".
There are moments where I could tell more people that the windows were being taken care of... but I can't. And I don't want anyone revealing that. It might expose this role and I... cannot afford to have that happen. For a lot of reasons.
[ he rubs his neck and sighs softly ]
...Are you sure none of the roles would use this knowledge to their advantage?
[ he tilts his head ] Because not all of your hesitation is making sense, and that just makes me more curious about what it is you’re doing that makes you feel this way about it. I’ll be blunt — the others know I was looking into you. Like I said, they were worried about you as well. What they don’t know is whether or not I’m right. I came to you first before I went to them to tell them we guessed correctly.
What would they take advantage of? The fact you’re a role? So are they. If they spilled to someone, any one of us could do the same. But as far as I can tell no one wants to because knowing each other and pooling information to discuss is the better option. We’ve all been very blunt with people pushing too far to find out roles, because we don’t want to lose them and we don’t want to harm the Watchers by being too open with what we know.
The point is — roles can talk to each other without consequence. We’re the only ones who can.
Which is making everyone worry about you, and in turn making people with that wider knowledge think “what could be making him so stressed out, other than the obvious?”.
[ … ]
And if I told you I wouldn’t tell? [ he shrugs.
[ and then he tilts his head back to look at the sky ]
Like I said, the others know I was looking into you. What do you want me to tell them, because they’re going to ask questions. And keep looking for roles even if there aren’t any to find.
I'll give you my choice tomorrow of what I plan to do. For now, I'd rather you didn't mention anything about me or my role.
If they need an answer of what's going on with me... Just tell them it was the events of what's been happening and Sholmes and I are trying to figure out how to cooperate again. Even without all of this, trust is being tested, Yuri. A child killed himself last week and we brought one on trial. And we didn't solve two deaths the week before.
Even if we're trying to figure this out, people are still killing each other.
[ A brief pause. ]
Maybe I'll tell you, and only you, some things about the role tomorrow. I'll think about it.

I'm used to keeping this kind of thing to myself. It's why only one person knows. I'll think deeply about it.
no subject
Can't help you if you get yourself into trouble though so... keep yourself safe.

I'll check in on you. I mean, other than normal conversations. Don't run yourself completely into the ground if you can help it.

[ he pauses, thinking and looking at yuri in thought. ]
Do the roles tend to share their teams or not?
no subject
[ ... ]
But in the interest of fairness, I know yours thanks to my search.
no subject
So are we on the same side? Even though we're both technically neutral roles.
no subject
Yeah. If you buy into their sides.
I'm the same as you.
no subject
Maybe. Maybe not. I have someone I feel like I can trust that's on the other side, but... I'm worried about something I was told early on and I can't help but think about that kind of thing.
no subject
What were you told that's got you so concerned?
no subject
no subject
I'm starting to think we're being told whatever suits the side we're on. Have you asked any of the Watchers what our teams "represent"?

Why can't we have something in the middle...
no subject
Maybe we need to figuring that out? That middle point between sheer chaos and absolute order.

I mean all of us. Not us like… roles only. Everyone’s meeting and gathering information and trying to make heads or tails of it.
We’re just helping a bit along the way.

Explain why.

[ no, he won't go into any kind of detail about it. he sighs, rubbing his face a bit. ]
I wasn't acting that strange... There's been a lot going on.
