I used to be one of the featured and sponsored heroes. It's how I made my living. More recently, I've had to work with the side heroes, for various reasons.
Besides, I'm happier there. More focus on the saving, less focus on appealing to the viewership.

I can't imagine being expected to "perform" while apprehending criminals. In fact, in the RCM we specifically try not to do anything that might be entertaining enough to end up on Channel 8.
It's amazing the differences between the worlds. And I can't say I haven't gotten into trouble before when I've insisted on doing my job over waiting for the commercial break.
Yes, this appears to serve no purpose other than complicating things.
