Mr. Turner, that wizard, stated that his kind could open portals. Nothing as major as this, perhaps, but if that does exist, then perhaps it's a similar principle.
Mm. Our masked benefactors are the ones who can ward them off...but given that execution last week, there are circumstances where they can be cut off. One perhaps has to understand that if it is an ability that was given to them, whether we can make use of it when and wherever we can.
[ He runs his hand through his hair, a little frustrated. ]
And I'm sure if we even asked them about some of this, they'd just tell us their hands are tied. Or, worse, they'll turn to dust if they try to help. It makes you wonder what the person at the top even has in mind turning this all into some kind of competition.
