I have been deep in investigation of numerous things this very day, my dear fellow, so I shall not say I have deemed to pay attention to such things...
[definition: he was distracted]
Pray tell, have you found an example of technology, then?
Ah, and is it showing plays on it, like you said before? I find it fascinating that such things could be broadcasted so easily. And I thought my cinematograph was advanced enough!
They don't have anything live going on right now. Assuming it's because of the state of this place, but they have some things on tape. It can be a surprise for both of us.
[ honestly, he didn't look around at what the options were, but they'll find something interesting. probably.
he jerks his head down a street, indicating that's the way to go. ]
It has things recorded on it. Movies or shows. [ Thinks a moment. ] Movies are stories that are contained to short lengths, but shows are more ongoing and have multiple parts to them.
[ But he nods about the question. ]
Yeah, I'm fine. It was just a little hard to breathe when I was in there.
[ It's cute. Not that Kotetsu doesn't act like a manchild a lot, but big dad energy, too.
For now, the TV is only displaying fuzzy static! ]
Yeah. That might be why the other ones didn't work. That thing on top is an antennae. It normally helps find things that are being broadcast locally, but it doesn't seem to be picking anything up right now.
I wouldn't have gotten your hopes up so high if it was just that. You see that box there? You can put those tapes into it and you don't need any kind of signal.
You gotta take it outside of the package first, then you put it into the front rectangle. Make sure you're putting it in so that the writing is facing out.
[ He'd do it himself, but he's kind of more of the "try it yourself!" type. More fun that way for both parties. ]
Yeah, even kids can figure these things out. Now you just need to press play on there and make sure it's on the right channel. It should start up after.

I was mainly scouting for more things for cooking.
[ But, before Sholmes can respond to that specifically: ]
Oh! Right! I saw something I wanted to show you.
no subject
[sorry, he's instantly distracted about OFFERS to HIS ATTENTION]
Do show me, post-haste! I must see!
no subject
Not sure if you've been looking at much of the technology around here since we've arrived.
[ he probably has, but... Kotetsu still seems delighted ]

no subject
Yeah, I found a TV. And they've even got some working equipment that belongs to it.
no subject
You have my ear, Mr. Kotetsu. And my other ear. And my eyes. Show me!
no subject
It took a few tries, but I finally found something that works.

[SO MANY NEW THINGS TO DISCOVER]
[Anyways, he's happily following along.]
By the by, are you feeling any better from your little dust attack?
no subject
[ But he nods about the question. ]
Yeah, I'm fine. It was just a little hard to breathe when I was in there.
no subject
[He smiles at that.]
Take some deep breathes, my man. [And a pat on the shoulder.] We can't lose you yet, especially to such paltry circumstances.
no subject
[ But who really reads these days. ]
A little dust won't kill me.
[ But look! A house...!! And he holds his hand out to indicate this is the place. ]
no subject
[He's already running forward!]
Come now, you really must make haste! You're as slow as a turtle, my man!
no subject
I'm coming, I'm coming.
[ In true dad fashion, he's taking his time. But! He gets there. ]
I couldn't find the remote, but you see these buttons here? The red is the power button.
no subject
The...power button. Ah. [Pressing it!] What does this run on? Electricity?
no subject
For now, the TV is only displaying fuzzy static! ]
Yeah. That might be why the other ones didn't work. That thing on top is an antennae. It normally helps find things that are being broadcast locally, but it doesn't seem to be picking anything up right now.
no subject
[Just patting the top of it and then fiddling with the antennae like its a toy.]
So it must pick up what, a signal? How unfortunate. And I was excited to see plays and the like!
no subject
I wouldn't have gotten your hopes up so high if it was just that. You see that box there? You can put those tapes into it and you don't need any kind of signal.
no subject
Ah, do you have any tapes?
no subject
[ Points at the box on the ground! It's a bunch of random ones.
HE DID THIS FOR YOU, SHOLMES. ]
Take your pick. I don't know what any of them are.
no subject
[And then he puts it on....top of the box....]
[And looks expectantly at it.]
[Help.]
no subject
You gotta take it outside of the package first, then you put it into the front rectangle. Make sure you're putting it in so that the writing is facing out.
[ He'd do it himself, but he's kind of more of the "try it yourself!" type. More fun that way for both parties. ]
no subject
[He totally has this! And yes, it does take a few tries, but eventually, with some fumbling, he gets the tape out and into the player.]
Ah. Elementary, I see.
[Like he didn't have trouble with it at all.]
no subject
