[ kaeya is on yet another (as it's turning out to be fruitless...) patrol with polaris at his side, one of his hands curled in his neck ruff, the other loose in his pocket. there's nothing, absolutely nothing beyond what they've already torn this place apart for and it's exceedingly frustrating to know that people are missing and it's as though they've vanished. ]
Well, I found a map in the bookshop, along with some books that provided a bit of background information on this place. You remember the angel statues in Cittégazza, right? And you've seen the angel statues here as well... whoever lived here, believed that they owed a great deal of their wealth and happiness to these winged figures.
I think that's something we should bear in mind as we try to unravel the bigger mystery of why we're here.
That and I found a map that shows how Krankaz didn't always used to be under water.
That's what I like. Over there, we'll have a seat in the plaza. Come along.
[ just to get you off your feet for a moment! once there, he pulls the carefully folded map out of his tits jacket. polaris trots over and has a well-behaved seat with kaeya, tail thwacking back and forth. ]
The way this map is drafted indicates that this city at least was supposed to be on land.
Right? I'm curious as to how exactly it ended up so deep, and who put the bubble in place, you know? This entire city is a wreck... perhaps some great storm?
Or even a vengeful god of some sort. Both are a possibility. The previous tenants of this city believed they owed a great deal of their wealth and happiness to angelic figures. Maybe they weren't thankful enough to these angels they so revered that they took it upon themselves to cast their worshippers down, so to speak...
Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence... Three times is a pattern. If this is happening all over again, we'd do our best to perhaps consider what angels have to do with each of these worlds and what part they play...
Mmm. [ firm nod at that. ] That's also a possibility we can't rule out, you're right... they might have a story all their own to tell. It would be worth hearing.
kicks down door
Looking for more trouble, I take it?
[ sir?!??!?! your leg sir??? sighs. ]
NOT MY DOOR
his attention is drawn away from the spot he was looking and give a half smile and a small little salute at kaeya. ]
The last trouble found me.
[ HIS LEG IS FINE. sorta. but he rubs his neck ]
Out on patrol, too?
here comes ur weekly dose of fruit
Yes, but I'm beginning to think we may not find anything until tomorrow...
[ like the blood. ]
I've been trying not to linger over the idea that the clue's we're so frantically searching for are undetectable and right underneath our noses.
delicious
[ shoots a half smile. ]
Better to keep going and hoping we find something, right?

[ catches that half smile and returns it. ]
We can keep searching a bit more if you really want, but in turn perhaps I could impart on you some curious information I found at the bookshop.

[ that does have his interest ]
But information...? You have my attention.

That's bizarre. How could a city end up under the sea like this?
